Personal Life of Jeremy Lalrinnunga

Jeremy was born on October 20, 2002, in Mizoram’s capital of Aizawl in India. He was interested in boxing as early as at the age of six. So, He had his initial training under his father Lalmaithuava, who was a national level boxer in India. Later, He shifts himself from Boxing to Weightlifting.

He was trained at the Army Institute of Sports (AIS) Jeremy had learned the tricks from coach Malsawma Khiangte. From 2012 he had full-time training in AIS. He won his first major medal at the World Youth championships in 2016 and there on his journey gets started marching forward towards Youth Olympics 2018.

Initially, he opened up a 2 kg lead over Toptas of his category who is a silver medalist at the end of the three lifts. His first lift is 142 kg which was more than enough for him to clinch the gold. But later he went on to lift 150 kg in his third attempt to end with an 11 kg lead over silver medallist Toptas and clinched the gold for India.
