PV Sindhu Wiki: Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian badminton player. She is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal at 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, and second  Indian badminton players to ever win an Olympic medal after Saina Nehwal.

Under the guidance of Pullela Gopichand, her coach she took the Indian badminton to next level. Personal Life of P.V Sindhu

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu or PV Sindhu was born on July 5th, 1995. Her parents P. V. Ramana and P. Vijaya who were professional volleyball players. Sindhu’s father P. V. Ramana was honored with Arjuna Award for his excellence in the sport. He was one of the members in the team that won a bronze medal at the 1986 Asian Games in Volleyball.

Sindhu has an elder sister P.V Divya who is also a national level handball player. She quit sports later on and choose her career as a doctor, and married Anurag Kumar who is a  software engineer in U.S. P.V Sindhu started her career when she was 8 by the inspiration of All England Open Series winner Pullela Gopichand, who is her coach now.

learned the basics of the Badminton under the guidance of Mehboob Ali at the  Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad. She had to travel 56 km daily to practice her game.

Gopichand added that The most striking feature in P.V.Sindhu’s game is her attitude and the never-say-die spirit. As soon as she joined the Gopichand Academy She showed her excellence by winning several titles such as in Won the 5th Servo All India ranking championship in both Singles and Doubles at the Ambuja Cement All India ranking in under 10 categories.

Sindhu won the singles title at the Sub-juniors in Pondicherry in under 13-year category, She won doubles titles at the Krishna Khaitan All India Tournament, in IOC All India Ranking, in the Sub-Junior Nationals and inthe All India Ranking in Pune. She won Gold in the under-14 category at the 51st National School Games in India.
