Yanni was born in Kalmata Greece in the year 1954. He was good at playing the piano from the childhood itself and he would give concerts for his family members without any training. His popular musical video YANNI LIVE AT THE ACROPOLIS earned him accolades in the year 1994.

Childhood and growing up years

From an early age, he began giving concerts to his family members without any training. He was also known to be an excellent swimmer. Though he could not read musical notes, his parents encouraged him to pursue his interest after noticing his ability to play the piano. He entered the University of Minnesota when he was eighteen years old. He then completed his BA in psychology and decided to pursue his career. He formed a team in order to promote his albums like KEYS TO IMAGINATION, OUT OF SILENCE and CHAMALEON DAYS.

Claim to fame

Yanni’ album DARE TO DREAM was released in the year 1992. It was his first nominated album. His second nominated album IN MY TIME was released in 1993. His music was quite popular in the sports and television. YANNI LIVE AT THE ACROPOLIS was a successful album in 1993.

During March 1997, Yannni performed at the Taj Mahal in India.  He released his next musical video TRIBUTE in the same year. Yanni even performed in China. His music was a real rage among the music lovers.

In 6^th May 2004, Yanni earned a doctorate degree from the Minnesota University.

Presently

Yanni is hailed as a musical star all over the world. His videos have become quite popular as he has given concerts in more than twenty countries. He is also one of the topmost fundraisers for television.

Yanni has become the first person from the west to adopt a giant panda during his tour in China in October 2011. He has been giving concerts in South America, Eastern Europe and Asia.

Yanni has received more than thirty five golden albums. He has received a doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota. He has been allowed to perform at famous landmarks like the Taj Mahal in India, The Forbidden City of China and Burj Khalifa at Dubai.
